Located in Chariton, this concrete encased beam bridge crosses Albia Road (former US-34).
Built in 1912 the bridge consists of a single concrete encased beam span, set onto concrete substructures. It is approached by a concrete slab span on either side.
These types of bridges are commonly used for grade separation.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in fair to poor condition. The bridge superstructure and substructure have significant deterioration.
